Hey Ben, thanks for the comments. My little desktop sound booth unfortunately is too tall to mount a script above it. What I have started doing is sending my script to my iPhone and reading from that. It allows me easier placement (as the screen is much more narrow than a sheet of paper) and I don't have the problem of flipping a page prematurely and having that sound register in my recording (amateur mistake). I can even use iPhone software that will auto scroll my script for me, like a mini teleprompter.

You have to love the democratization of technology! :)

Chris,

Great setup! I see so many inexpensive setups that just plain work <i>well</i>. It looks like yours is another to be added to that list.

One thought I had: Can you somehow setup your script above your sound booth? I'd imagine that would keep from getting crosseyed by the end!

[...] Sidenote: in response to DesignerDad’s comment (below), here’s a photo of my “homebrewed” sound booth. Ugly but cheap - and functional. I thought others might be interested in my setup as well. You can read about it in more detail in my October post on narration recording. [...]

Jason - I love the inventive ways people "get-'er-done" in the studio. Yes, these tiles are great for all permanent and portable applications for project to world class recorders. Regards, Tom
